He spent most of his childhood in school, his local church and community group, and with his family. He moved to Baton Rouge, LA after Hurricane Katrina devastated his neighborhood. His desire to fly airplanes and serve inspired him to apply for the U.S.A.F Academy. He was accepted and entered the Academy in 2007.
