He has primarily served as a pastor for smaller Baptist churches in rural Nova Scotia Canada but has also taught theology students in Canada and Kenya. He has also written many articles for his denominational paper, which has since been discontinued, as well as other Christian publications. As well, he has led seminars and training sessions with many rural congregations and denominational groups.Dr. Legassie is married to Elizabeth, who is currently serving as a pastor after a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
