Academically, he specialised in the Bronze Age because "there's less you have to know about people before they invented writing." Somewhat ironically, he now likes to relax by reading ancient works of literature, especially classical Greek texts and about the voyages of early explorers. When not digging up skeletons or contemplating the wine dark sea, Ali Jon runs games of D&D and sculpts miniatures. Ali Jon has been writing most of his life (he's now in his late 30s), slowly beating down the dyslexia which held him back in his early years. He is excited to finally be able to share his worlds and characters with other people. Authors which have had a big impact on his writing style include J.V. Jones and Julian May.
