Perkins now resides in Smithfield, Utah. After receiving a master’s degree in organizational communication from Utah State University, he worked for a management consulting firm in sales and training. Later, he turned down the opportunity to open an office for them in Salt Lake City in order to continue to foster a relationship with his girlfriend/now spouse, Lora. Lora brought two boys to the relationship from another marriage. Guy brought his fear of becoming an instant dad. They had two more children and are grandparents of an even dozen.
Guy, also a passionate bowhunter, was instrumental in bringing the National Bowhunter Education Program to Utah and as a master instructor helped establish the program in Idaho. He is a regular member of the Professional Bowhunters Society. He has taught hunter education and served on the regional advisory council (RAC) as a sportsman’s representative for northern Utah. His background in management and retail sporting goods sales, in addition to his positions managing customer service, sales, and marketing with four national outdoor brands, have allowed him unique insight into the relationships between human and beast and the places they’d all like to call home. Often asked why he adopted and trained mustang horses, he’d respond, “Well, they are kinda like a big dog, and they gain trust much the same way. They don’t know me, and I don’t know them, so were on equal footing to begin with.”vizualizați mai puține
