A native of Northern Mindanao, Carlston graduated from Mindanao University of Science and Technology with a degree of B.S. Technology Communications Management. He finished college with honor, Cum Laude, in 2010 and in 2012 he topped the Northern Mindanao Tour Guides when he graduated Valedictorian.
