She came to Canada in late 1979 as a refugee sponsored by the Lacombe Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Once in Canada, she began to learn English and attended the Lacombe Composite High School. She was accepted into the University of Alberta and successfully completed a bachelor of arts degree in 1987 with a concentration in sociology and psychology.
In 2005, Monica was diagnosed with life-threatening stomach cancer. After a major gastric surgery, which removed 75 percent of her stomach, and a battle with chemotherapy, she became a cancer survivor. Monica had since been searching for God’s purpose for her remaining life.
Monica likes to read, think, and write down her thoughts of Christ. She realized God had given all these thoughts that she wrote down to prepare her for His work. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, Monica put together her notes and turned them into devotionals to share.vizualizați mai puține
