grandmother of one. Throughout my naval service, of which most of the time was spent onboard ships,
I always felt guilty about leaving my children for any period of time - even though I knew they would
be well taken care of and provided for in my absence. As a proud and dedicated sailor, I made many sacrifices.
However, because of my choice to serve our country, my children were forced to make sacrifices as well.
