As a result of her passion for teaching mathematics, Janel earned the Herbert Freemont teaching award at Queens College in 1998. Janel holds the great honor of being one of nine teachers selected nationally by the Anneberg Foundation to appear on television in 2003 and demonstrate how to teach mathematics effectively to diverse learners. Janel, a native of Brooklyn, New York, utilizes her eighteen years of district-wide school administrative and teaching experience to write children’s books. Janel strongly believes that all children and adults can learn math if taught creatively. This research-based book teaches children advanced math concepts and vocabulary in an enjoyable way so that children five years and older can understand.
