My two youngest children would be doing the same thing in a few years. The house would be empty and quiet.
I wanted to be prepared for those childless years by doing something very different, very exciting. But what? Up to this point I was a white knuckled passenger on a commercial flight when the 99s come to our local airport. They would give then free lessons for females interested. I was intrigued so I signed up. After a couple of lessons, I was hooked. This was an activity mentally stimulating and exciting. All my energy and free time was devoted to this hobby. After hours of flying lessons and hours attending classes, I succeeded in obtaining my IFR rating.
I flew almost eighteen years all over the Unites States and Canada. In that time my trips only had two unexpected events where my life was in question; once flying to Alaska and the other caught in the most violent thunderstorms over the Appalachian Mountains.vizualizați mai puține
