He grew up in a loving family, but was plunged into a life of darkness when his father was stricken with schizophrenia. Losing a father figure to use as a role model, John turned to the martial arts and philosophy for guidance. After years of physical and mental training John gained a Master degree and was inducted into The Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
