She has five brothers, Loade Johnson Jr. (deceased), Sylvester Johnson (deceased), Jimmy Johnson, Donell Johnson, and Dr. Jerry Johnson. Brenda was married for thirty-one years and has been divorced for eleven years. Brenda has two sons, Shane Kwan Lasenby and DeJuan Antonio Lasenby. She is the grandparent of four grandchildren, Shayla Breann, Sydney Felice, Shane Timothy Jr., and Braelynn.
Brenda is a member of World Deliverance Temple (WDT) in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, since its inception in March 1999. She has served as secretary of the executive governing board, as well as a member of the praise team and usher board. Her pastor is Bishop Roy D. Ferguson and copastor Delores Ferguson.
Prior to becoming a member of WDT, Brenda attended International Gospel Center in Ecorse, Michigan, for approximately thirty-eight years, under the leadership of the late apostle Charles O. Miles Sr. Under the direction and auspice of Apostle Miles, Brenda received a good old-fashioned teaching. This caliber of teaching provided her with the necessary knowledge needed to maintain a firm and solid spiritual foundation.
