While attending Indiana University as a music education major, she worked the summers at the ho-tel and there met her future husband, Johnny Kobee, a musi-cian in the hotel’s band. That summer love turned into a mar-riage that lasted 57 years and has been blessed with three chil-dren, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren….so far. In 2002, while working as the hotel’s concierge and histori-an, she was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Hoosier Hos-pitality Award for Orange County. She now lives in Antwerp, Ohio, with her best friend and confidant, “Lady”, whom the angels dropped off at the local shelter.
