Born and raised in Virginia, after graduating from Patrick Henry High School, he joined The United States Marines. Upon completion of basic training at San Diego Recruit Depot, he was stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station in Hawaii. After successfully completing his tour of duty he returned home to Virginia. In 1981 he joined The Army Reserve, where he honorably presented himself and received several of The Army’s highest honors. In 1998 he received the call into the ministry and began also writing poetry about life. He also is a Gospel Recording Artist, in which he sings with his two daughters, who are also poets. Group named Minister Bernard Hash & Glory 2.
