He lives in the Smoky Mountains with his wife, two dogs, miniature horses, two ducks, and four chickens. He is a retired National Park Service Ranger and worked at Gulf Islands National Seashore and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for twenty-six years and enjoyed every minute of it. He admits to being an action junky and now a book author.
