I have thus always considered myself a strong individual, being able to deal with any dangers surrounding me. I have however learnt through the toughest ordeal the risk of survival does not necessarily exist outside ones own boundaries but can come from within.
I sprang into this world from a fit, hard working and healthy family, who have generally passed on due to natural causes. Being diagnosed with breast cancer meant that I was the index case in my family. My diagnosis has thus instantly changed the status of the rest of my family members and my descendants who share my bloodline. I now recognize that no-one is exempted from the ills of living.
