She has taught elementary, middle school, and as an adjunct professor at Norfolk State University, her undergraduate alma mater. She earned three graduate degrees at Old Dominion University. She has attended William and Mary University and the University of Virginia. She is retired after a successful and fruitful career in education with the Norfolk Public Schools as a Communication Skills Specialist. An active community volunteer and civic organizer, she is a dedicated member of several organizations, most of them she is the chaplain, including The Links, Moles, Chums, Norfolk Alumnae Chapter of Deltas, Drifters, president of the Holidays Bridge Inc., and Eastern Stars Prince Hall Affiliation. She holds membership at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church as a Lay Leader, and is a recipient of numerous awards. She has been featured in several documentaries; Edward R. Murrow, 1958, WAVY TV, WHRO TV, NORVIEW H.S. 2008-2009, Ed Show MSNBC And, LOCKED OUT, The Fall of Massive Resistance. It was developed at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, WCVE & WHTJ. She has been featured on the cover of two magazines: Crisis Summer 2009, VOL 116/3 and Old Dominion U. Graduate Studies. Her hobbies are traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, bridge, and bowling. She has traveled to most of the states in the U.S.A., and some foreign countries such as Africa, Canada, England, Japan, and Paris. The most recent and enjoyable event of her life was her last birthday celebration held at the Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, VA where she resides with her husband, Allen Brown Sr. Dr. Brown’ life is filled with excitement and bullying.vizualizați mai puține
