I went to university in London and studied English & Film at King’s College. After graduating, I taught English for four years in South Korea. I released my first novel, The Death of Danny Daggers, in 2015. I went to Groningen in the Netherlands to do a Masters in Applied Linguistics in 2016. While there, I wrote my second novel, Cold Calling. Since then, I have lived in Tokyo, Gwangju, and Seoul, mostly teaching English at universities. The past two years have been spent writing $hitcoin., a novel I completed and released in 2020. I’m back in Wales for the foreseeable future, trying to make a living out of this writing lark during the lockdown. The biggest influences on my writing are Doestoevsky, Kerouac, Tarantino, Ryu Murakami, & Brett Easton Ellis. My favourite drinks are black coffee, IPAs, & Belgian quadruples. Some of my favourite musical artists are The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, JPEGMafia, Billy Woods, The Blood Brothers, At the Drive-In, Glassjaw, & Jvcki Wai. I didn’t learn to ride a bike until I moved to the Netherlands but now it’s my favourite way to get around. My favourite football team is Cardiff City. My favourite football player is fellow Caerphilly boy Aaron Ramsey. When I was five years old, I seared the flesh from both hands & electrocuted myself by removing the safety grill from an electric fire. The consultant in charge of my skin grafts recommended using a computer to restore dexterity to my fingers. Consequently, I can type around 200 words per minute. My favourite hangout is Club FF in Hongdae. My favourite filmmaker is Martin Scorsese. The only foods I don’t particularly like the tastes of are raw tomatoes and bondeggi (but I can tolerate eating both.) I speak Korean a lot better than I speak Welsh.vizualizați mai puține
