Carter self-published her first book, This is a Good Day to Live” in 2004. Raised in the southwest, and transplanted to California’s Central Coast with her husband and two daughters, Janine wrote poetry. While attending Cal Poly in January of 1995, her oldest daughter, Amber, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease, a type of lymphoma. After an intense battle to live, Amber passed away on June 10, 1999. She was 22 years old.
While mourning the death of her daughter, Janine began reading Amber’s personal journals and decided to include them in a book, This is a Good Day to Live. This book was written with love and admiration, in hopes of honoring Amber and her life. It also includes her sister, Bridgett and her mothers personal journals and poetry. The proceeds of “This is a Good Day to Live, go to a scholarship fund at Amber’s high school alma mater.
Janine is currently completing her first novel, Summer Breeze.vizualizați mai puține
