He recently retired from the Norfolk Community Services Board, having worked in the field of human services in that city for nearly forty years. He served as a social worker in a chronic disease hospital for 12 years and then for the mental health division as a crisis counselor, case manager and education specialist for 27 years. John have seen quite a lot of human suffering and his writing is an attempt to help people dealing with pain of all kinds.
