He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school. He obtained his Bachelor''''s degree and always enjoyed writing stories. Smith became a California Highway Patrolman and promoted to Captain. He is married to a beautiful wife, has four boys, twin (identical) girls, two step sons and a step daughter. They all make him proud.
