For thirty-five years he served on the faculty of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he is now an emeritus professor. During his years at Dartmouth Professor Lindgren also acted as a consultant to a number of government agencies including the Department of Interior, NASA and the Central Intelligence Agency.
