Alastair Kendall was born August 1, 1958. He was the only son, with
two older sisters. His parents are both deceased. Kendall‘s physicist
father used to tell him (and his sisters) bedtime stories about Johnny
the Penguin and going through a mirror to visit lots of wonderful places
like visiting his cousins who lived in California and one time they even
went to the moon! The Wizard of Wigwash was a major part of the
story but this book is only based on characters from his stories. The
plot is entirely his own (although Stone did have some input). He‘s a
first-time author.
Kendall attended an Ivy League University based in Upstate New York,
USA (Cornell) and graduated in 1980 with a BSc degree in Hotel and
Restaurant Management.
He is presently a hospitality consultant and has been for the past 11
years but previously worked in a management role for major hotels,
such as Sheraton, Hyatt and the Savoy in London, as well as for Walt
Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Kendall owned and managed
several businesses including a shuttle bus company in Central London
that carried over 1 million passengers, 2 pubs one of which was in the
exclusive prime area of Belgravia, London and several video retail
shops in London back when a video was the only way to watch a film!
He enjoys watching TV, walking on the beach and eating in great
restaurants. Kendall now lives in Walton on the Naze, Essex near
where Arthur Ransome of Swallows and Amazons fame set his
