With a formal education interrupted by the Korean War, Fred abandoned his pursuit of a law degree and returned to a lifelong career in the insurance claims arena. He later studied law by correspondence under the tutelage of a close friend and Harvard law graduate.
For the last two decades of his career, he served as vice president of an old, highly regarded regional property/casualty company, founded a almost twenty years before the Civil War. During his tenure, he served as a member of The Insurance Information Institute's Advisory Council on Legal Issues, The Loss Managers' Committee of The Property Loss Research Bureau, taught adjusting courses on behalf of The Insurance Institute of America and was a licensed property/casualty insurance agent/vizualizați mai puține
