Alex was married for nineteen years before finally admitting to himself, and the world, that he was (and always had been) gay. He and his wife divorced, and ten years later he met the love of his life. They fell in love instantly. Alex proposed and his husband accepted thirteen hours after they met. They have been together now for twenty-seven years. Before meeting his husband Alex didn’t believe in love at first sight or in soul mates. Now he does, and this is a theme in several of his stories. Another theme from his life is denying you are gay until mid-life.
Alex often wonders what his life would have been like if he’d admitted to himself in high school that he is gay. This, too, is in several stories. Other themes that often occur are from his love of classical music and his other career: computer science.
