He has forty years’ experience in higher and adult education and for 12 years had a practice in clinical hypnosis. He was formerly Director of Postgraduate Studies in the School of Healthcare Sciences, Bangor University and is currently a Visiting Research Fellow with the Open University. He is an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, the Higher Education Academy, the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the British Association of Medical Hypnosis. He is a scientific consultant and adviser in research ethics to the European Commission and continues to advise public and private agencies in the UK and Ireland.
