After completing MBBS in 1973 from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, the author did his MD (Community Health Administration) from the prestigious National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Ne...vizualizați mai multeAfter completing MBBS in 1973 from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, the author did his MD (Community Health Administration) from the prestigious National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi under Delhi University in 1984. After retiring as Director of Health Services, Manipur, in May 2008, he is presently working as Chairman of Dr. Suresh Centre for Foreign Studies and Placement, Imphal, a non-profit Centre to help and assist students in pursuing their studies in India and abroad. He is the first recipient of 2 Letters of Appreciation from the Government of Manipur for his outstanding works in the field of health and family Welfare and also the recipient of 2 WHO Fellowships (one in Holland during June-July, 1991 and the other in the U.K. during April-June, 1996) for his contribution towards rural health and family welfare. Conferred the “Bharat Excellence Awards” by the Friendship Forum of India on 22/08/1997 in New Delhi, on great achievers of Indian origin for their exploits in their chosen field, he is also figured in the entry of “The Rising Personalities of India” published by the International Penguin Publishing House, New Delhi in October 1997 for his remarkable activities in his chosen field.
Besides challenging by a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India regarding the validity of the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act 1958 (AFSPA) in Manipur, which is in hearing stage, the author has also filed a 2nd petition in India's Apex Court for non-implementation of the Manipur Merger Agreement, 1949, particularly ArticleVIII(3), which was signed on 21st August 1949 between the then Maharajah of Manipur and the interim Government of India, regarding employment of Manipuris in the various branches of Public Services.
With 6 research papers published under his belt, he is at present contributing various articles in leading Manipuri newspapers in varied unending topics of the problematic state of Manipur.
