Whitney lives with her boyfriend Brian in a cozy condo near the water, but still misses the Bay Area and her friends from UCSF. While they currently have no plans to move back, she admits it does come up in conversation fairly often.
Whitney is an avid reader, with her favorite genre being chick lit and women's fiction, but she also loves the classics. She is currently putting the finishing touches on a sequel to A Year of Being Me, in which she explores the world of internet dating for forty plus single women. She describes it as serious but funny.
Reviewers have not quite figured out what to make of Whitney Wellcroft and her unique writing style, comparing her first book to "Fifty Shades of Grey" – which she finds amusing. Readers looking for a cookie-cutter romance may well be confused. Surprisingly, her male readers seem to get it, and they call her work refreshingly honest. None call it boring.
